How To Win Over People Without Ever Making A Sales Pitch

Monday, December 21st, 2009

People hate a sales pitch. People are able to see a sales pitch from a mile away. And typically they run away as quickly as they can. No one wants to be pitched a business with a hard sell. It invades their space and time.

As an alternative to going instantly to a sales pitch try the “un-sales” pitch. It involves educating the consumer, giving information and creating buzz.  When a visitor comes to your site and inquires about a your business and how to get involved, instead of launching into a typical sales pitch, you want to engage them on the site, and find out what their goals are. You intend to build a relationship that will bring more referrals, instead of one quick sale or turning them off so they leave feeling pressured.

Most people have reservations about home businesses because they believe the opportunity is nothing but a scam. Leading off with a sales pitch without developing the relationship will usually lead to rejection. The idea with network marketing is to promote yourself and build relationships.  The more information you can provide on your site that is useful to them without trying to get them to join, the more likely they will visit your site more often and eventually join of their own accord.

“How To” articles are the best content to add to your site.  People that are in home businesses are always looking for help to grow their business and “how to” articles are a great way to get them to come back to your website on a repeat basis.  Providing these kinds of articles can build a huge fan base of people who trust and respect what you have to say and are more likely to buy products you recommend or join your business.  You also want to try to get people to interact with you and a great way to do that is by letting people post comments about your information.  It’s also very important to respond to each and every comment to start building the relationship with that person.

Providing useful content or training material will show people how you have been able to build a strong business and they will see that if they follow you they can achieve the same thing. They will have many questions as to how it all works, what they get out of it, how much work they will have to put into it and how much money they can make.  These are the most common concerns that most people have.  Other concerns may be that they believe they are not good at marketing.  Or they live in a small town and don’t know a lot of people.  If you provide articles or other content that will show people how to build and advertise their business you will create a loyal follower.

Network marketing can be a lucrative business and the more followers you have on your site, the more likely you can build your down line with actual members who are making money for you.
